Mechanical BIM Modeler
Job Description:
The Role
We're recruiting on behalf of a leading MEP contractor establishing its engineering office in Damascus. As Mechanical BIM Modeler, you'll produce high-quality, coordinated 3D mechanical models — HVAC, plumbing, public health and firefighting — and the shop drawings that come off them, working to the project BEP, EIR and LOD standards.
What You'll Do
● Develop mechanical BIM models — HVAC (ductwork, AHUs, FCUs, chillers), plumbing, public health and sprinkler systems — to LOD 300–400, including hangers, supports and insulation.
● Build parametric Revit families for mechanical equipment and fittings as needed.
● Extract coordinated shop drawings: duct layouts, equipment schedules, riser diagrams, and plumbing and mechanical-room details.
● Run multi-discipline clash detection in Navisworks and manage federated models, clash reports and issue trackers.
● Maintain as-built updates and support COBie / O&M handover data.
What We're Looking For
● 2+ years as a Mechanical BIM Modeler in an MEP contracting environment, on large commercial, hospitality, healthcare or mixed-use projects.
● Diploma or Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Technology or a related discipline.
● Advanced Revit MEP; proficient with Navisworks Manage and AutoCAD.
● Sound knowledge of HVAC, chilled-water, ventilation and smoke-extract systems, plus plumbing and drainage.
● Familiarity with firefighting systems (wet/dry sprinkler, FM200, hydrants) and their coordination requirements.
● Professional working English and fluent Arabic.
● Based in Damascus and able to work on-site at the engineering office.
Nice to Have
● GCC project experience and awareness of ASHRAE, CIBSE and GCC standards (DEWA, DCD, SBC, QCS).
● Direct MEP subcontractor background with site-driven coordination experience.
● Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
What You'll Get
● Competitive base salary reflecting your experience.
● A foundational role in a newly established engineering office, backed by an established regional MEP contractor.
● Work to international BIM standards with a modern Revit, Navisworks and Autodesk Construction Cloud toolchain.
● A professional, international-standard environment built on quality, clear coordination, and room to grow.
