Mechanical BIM Coordinator
Job Description:
The Role
We're recruiting on behalf of a leading MEP contractor establishing its engineering office in Damascus. As Mechanical BIM Coordinator, you'll own all mechanical BIM coordination across the project portfolio — leading the modeling team, managing multi-discipline clash resolution and shop-drawing submissions, and delivering models that meet contractual standards and timelines.
What You'll Do
● Lead the mechanical BIM team; plan workloads, review quality, and own deliverables from design coordination to as-built.
● Develop the mechanical section of the BEP: modeling standards, LOD and team workflows.
● Lead coordination meetings for HVAC, plumbing and firefighting, and run clash-detection cycles and BCF issue logs to closure.
● Manage the full mechanical shop-drawing lifecycle, and review and approve drawings before submission.
● Maintain the drawing register, revision history and RFIs with consultants and the main contractor.
● Enforce BIM standards, oversee IFC / COBie / as-built accuracy, and mentor and upskill modelers.
What We're Looking For
● 7+ years in mechanical BIM, including 4+ in a coordination or team-leadership role within an MEP contracting environment.
● Track record managing BIM teams on large commercial, hospitality, healthcare or infrastructure projects.
● Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
● Expert Revit MEP (BIM 360 / ACC); advanced Navisworks; proficient AutoCAD.
● Solid understanding of ISO 19650, BEP development and information management.
● Professional working English and fluent Arabic.
● Based in Damascus and able to work on-site at the engineering office.
Nice to Have
● GCC project experience on AED 50M+ projects; awareness of Civil Defence, DEWA and equivalent standards.
● BIM certification (Autodesk ACE, BRE).
● Direct MEP subcontractor background.
What You'll Get
● Competitive base salary reflecting your experience.
● A senior, foundational role shaping the mechanical BIM function of a newly established engineering office, backed by an established regional MEP contractor.
● Work to international BIM standards with a modern Revit, Navisworks and Autodesk Construction Cloud toolchain.
● A professional, international-standard environment built on quality, clear coordination, and room to grow.
