Electrical BIM Engineer
Job Description:
The Role
We're recruiting on behalf of a leading MEP contractor establishing its engineering office in Damascus. As Electrical BIM Engineer, you'll own both the engineering integrity and the BIM deliverables of electrical systems — reviewing design drawings, resolving technical queries, running calculations, and ensuring systems are constructible and compliant. This is more than a modeling role.
What You'll Do
● Review consultant design drawings and specifications, and flag technical gaps, buildability issues and discrepancies.
● Raise and manage RFIs with engineering justifications, and validate shop drawings against design intent and authority requirements.
● Develop and QA electrical BIM models (LV/HV, lighting, ELV, fire alarm, earthing, containment) to LOD 300–400.
● Run and review clash detection in Navisworks and provide engineering-based resolutions.
● Perform or review cable sizing, voltage-drop, load-schedule and short-circuit calculations.
● Maintain as-built models and compile O&M / COBie handover documentation.
What We're Looking For
● 5–8 years in an electrical engineering and/or BIM role within an MEP contracting environment, covering both engineering reviews and modeling.
● Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering (BSc/BEng) — essential.
● Advanced Revit MEP; proficient Navisworks; competent AutoCAD.
● Calculation tools such as Excel load schedules, Amtech or DIALux.
● Familiarity with IEC 60364, BS 7671, NFPA 70/101 and authority standards.
● Professional working English and fluent Arabic.
● Based in Damascus and able to work on-site at the engineering office.
Nice to Have
● GCC project experience; knowledge of DEWA, SEC, Kahramaa or equivalent submission processes.
● Direct MEP subcontractor background across award-to-closeout delivery.
What You'll Get
● Competitive base salary reflecting your experience.
● A foundational engineering role in a newly established office, backed by an established regional MEP contractor.
● Work to international BIM standards with a modern Revit, Navisworks and Autodesk Construction Cloud toolchain.
● A professional, international-standard environment built on quality, clear coordination, and room to grow.
