Mechanical BIM Engineer
Job Description:
The Role
We're recruiting on behalf of a leading MEP contractor establishing its engineering office in Damascus. As Mechanical BIM Engineer, you'll deliver both engineering and BIM for HVAC, plumbing, public health and firefighting systems — critically reviewing designs, resolving technical issues, performing calculations, and making sure mechanical systems are coordinated, compliant and buildable.
What You'll Do
● Review consultant mechanical designs and specifications, and identify gaps, coordination issues and non-compliances.
● Initiate and manage RFIs, draft engineering responses and proposed modifications, and review material submittals.
● Develop and manage mechanical BIM models (HVAC, plumbing, public health, firefighting) to LOD 300–400.
● Run and review clash detection in Navisworks with engineering-based solutions.
● Perform or review load, duct-, pipe- and pump-head / pressure-drop calculations.
● Maintain as-built models, compile O&M, test reports and COBie data, and support commissioning.
What We're Looking For
● 5–8 years of combined mechanical engineering and BIM experience within an MEP contracting environment.
● Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering (BSc/BEng) — essential.
● Advanced Revit MEP; proficient Navisworks; competent AutoCAD.
● Engineering software such as HAP, Trace 700 or Hevacomp, plus pipe-sizing tools.
● Familiarity with ASHRAE 90.1, CIBSE guides and GCC authority / Civil Defence requirements.
● Professional working English and fluent Arabic.
● Based in Damascus and able to work on-site at the engineering office.
Nice to Have
● GCC project experience; knowledge of UAE, KSA, Qatar or Kuwait submission processes.
● MEP subcontractor background from design coordination through commissioning.
What You'll Get
● Competitive base salary reflecting your experience.
● A foundational engineering role in a newly established office, backed by an established regional MEP contractor.
● Work to international BIM standards with a modern Revit, Navisworks and Autodesk Construction Cloud toolchain.
● A professional, international-standard environment built on quality, clear coordination, and room to grow.
